Download Recordings Of All 4 Tara & Friends Shows From December!

In early December 2012, Donna the Buffalo's Tara Nevins performed four very special shows as Tara & Friends at a handful of venues in the southeast. Gary "Madtaper" Pudvan recorded all four of these gigs, and thanks to Capn Hook you can now download these recordings from the DtB page on the Live Music Archive. The shows took place on Wed., 12/5/21, in Atlanta, GA (Smith’s Olde Bar), Thur., 12/6/12, in Charlotte, NC (The Double Door Inn), Fri., 12/7/12, in Asheville, NC (The Grey Eagle), and Sat., 12/8/12, in Huntsville, AL (Kaffeeklatsch). Joining Tara for these gigs were Riley Baugus (banjo), Mike Compton (mandolin), Pete Finney (pedal steel and electric guitar), David Grier (acoustic guitar), Todd Phillips (bass), Amber-Dawn Rische (harmony vocals and fiddle), and DtB drummer Mark Raudabaugh. Thanks, Gary! Thanks, Capn! (posted 1/28/13)

New Videos: All 4 Shows From The Green Parrot, Key West, FL

Mark "DaBabe" Roth is at it again: This diehard fan and videographer has again gone above and beyond the call of duty to share the sights and sounds of Donna the Buffalo performances for those who couldn't be there in person. This time, Mark shares with us full-length videos of the band's first 4 shows of 2013, all of which took place at the Green Parrot in Key West, FL: 1/2/13, 1/3/13, 1/4/13 (early show), and 1/4/13 (late show). All four videos are fantastic, but the late show 1/4/13 is truly over the top. "This show, even with what moderate editing out I did, weighs in at 3 1/2 hours and displays the entire band at its funkiest, happiest, loopiest, "It's the end of a long run so let's have some fun" best! Mark said. "Set list speaks for itself. It does not get any better than this." Mark has plenty of other DtB videos, including full-show videos of the gigs on 12/30/12 and 12/31/13 at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa, FL, on his YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/dababe44. Thanks so much, Mark! (posted 1/21/13)

Now Available For Download: 1/20/13 Saxapahaw, NC

On Sunday, 1/20/13, Donna the Buffalo capped off a three-show weekend with a gig the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw, NC. This was the first time the band played this venue. Among other things, the show was notable for a pre-Martin Luther King day version of Mr. King, a new Jeb Puryear song, and a Jeb/Tara duet version of On Our Way On with Tara on drums as the encore. Thanks to taper Terry Killebrew, you can already download a recording of this show from the Live Music Archive at http://archive.org/details/donna2013-01-20. Thanks Terry! (posted 1/21/13)

Great Video From New Year's Eve: DtB + The Believers!

One of the many highlights of Donna the Buffalo's recent 3-night New Year's run of shows at Skipper's Smokehouse occurred near the end of the last night. On New Year's Eve, to top off a set full of surprises, DtB was joined by the Believers (Craig Aspen and Cyd Frazinni) for a long jam that was followed by a raucous cover of the Beatle's Helter Skelter. Fortunately, Mark "DaBabe" Roth was on hand and shares with us an 18-minute video of DtB rockin' Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa, FL on 12/31/12. Mark says he'll soon be posting a video of this complete show, and others from the FL run, on his YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/dababe44. Thanks so much, Mark! (posted 1/7/13)
