Donna the Buffalo will tour extensively this fall, with a schedule that will bring them throughout the northeast, southeast, and several western states, including shows in California, Oregon, and Washington in early November. This tour will see the band back at some of their favorite cities and venues, as well as at new locations. DtB will cap off the year with a three-night run at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa, FL. New Photos: 8/10/12 State Bridge, Bond, CO

In early August, Donna the Buffalo loaded up the bus and headed west for a run of shows in Colorado and an appearance at the Targhee Bluegrass Fest in Alta, WY. Gary "Madtaper" Pudvan was along for some of this tour, and shares with us 9 photos of DtB playing at the State Bridge Riverside Amphitheater in Bond, CO on Friday, 8/10/12. "Donna played just over 4 hours with no breaks," said Andrew "Ziggy" Zweigbaum, who's arguably Colorado's biggest DtB fan. "About 300 people, great vibe, sand dance floor. Lots of requests granted." Ziggy added that some highlights of this show were The Ones You Love, The Mill, Story of the Ages, Ancient Arms, Arrows Pointing Sideways, If You Only Could, Come to Life, Push Comes to Shove, Living in Babylon, No Place Like the Right Time, Then You Needed Me, Temporary Misery, Silverlined, and quite a few more. Thanks, guys! (posted 8/18/12)

Hundreds Of Fantastic Photos From The 2012 GrassRoots Fesival

Two of DonnaFans.com's most prolific contributors have recently posted a mother lode of photos from the GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance, which took place 7/19/12 through 7/22/12 in Trumansburg, NY. Rather than just share a few of their incredible images, I'm going to provide links to the complete albums. Phil Ross generously shares with us 186 photos from the 2012 GrassRoots Fest at http://on.fb.me/OgeFDO. Phil's photos include many shots of Donna the Buffalo as well as the band's members playing with other artists, such as this great one of Jeb Puryear opening the fest with Bubba George Stringband on Thursday, 7/19/12. John Yust also was at this year's T-burg GrassRoots, and kindly provides us with 185 photos of DtB and other bands, including a great series of shots of DtB with the unimitable Jim Lauderdale, at http://on.fb.me/ORTGD8. Thanks so much, guys!

New Video: Jeb & Friends, 7/21/12 GrassRoots Fest

One of the many special sets that take place at the GrassRoots Festival is a performance by Donna the Buffalo's Jeb Puryear and friends Saturday morning in the Cabaret. This year, Jeb's friends included former DtB keyboardist Kathy Ziegler, Uniit on vocals, Sim Redmond on guitar, Hank Roberts on cello, DtB drummer Mark Raudabaugh, and Nery Arevalo on percussion. Gene Martin was at this gig and shares with us an excellent video of Jeb and Friends playing Do It For Love on 7/21/12 at the GrassRoots Fest in Trumansburg, NY. The set also featured Universal Love, Bloody Mary Morning, Hopes & Dreams, Times Like These, and more. Thanks, Gene! (posted 8/6/12)

Just Added: Photos From Rockin' the River Cruise, 8/2/12 New York NY

A beautiful summer night, a cruise along the Hudson River with spectacular views of the NYC skyline, and Donna the Buffalo—what more could you ask for? On Thursday, 8/2/12, Donna the Buffalo returned to New York City to again sail the Rockin' the River cruise, which goes from the Circle Line dock at 42nd St., down around the bottom of lower Manhattan, up to the Brooklyn Bridge, and back again. I was on this boat ride and share 15 photos of DtB playing on 8/2/12 in New York, NY, which include a few shots of the skyline and one of the Statue of Liberty. The band started playing as soon as the cruise set sail and was still going strong 2 hours later when the boat pulled back up to the dock. Highlights of the set including a jumping version of Cornbread, Blue Sky, I Love My Tribe, Family Picture, a deeply exploratory Conscious Evolution, a wonderfully extended rendition of We're Working On That, and a Hot Tamale Baby closer to get us bouncing off the river and back on solid ground.
