Just Added: Photos From 9/4/10, Rhythm & Roots Festival, Charlestown, RI

On Saturday, 9/4/10, Donna the Buffalo pulled off an impressive doubleheader. The band began the day with an afternoon set at the Hudson Valley Green Festival at Mills Mansion in Staatsburg, NY, then packed up and headed 180 miles east to Charlestown, RI for an evening set at the Rhythm & Roots Festival. Longtime DonnaFans.com contributor Karen Landau was on hand for the second gig, and kindly shares with us 9 photos of DtB performing in Charlestown, RI on 9/4/10. At R&R, the band played a set that included It's Love Time, Blue Sky, Funky Side, Part-Time Lover, Silverlined, and Voice in My Head. Musical friend/zydeco legend Preston Frank sat in for Hot Tamale Baby and several other songs before DtB ended the night with Mystic Water. Thanks for the photos, Karen! (posted 9/23/10)

New Videos From Recent DtB Shows

Thanks to dedicated Donna the Buffalo fans and the ease of sharing videos on YouTube, there are a handful of new videos available of the band from recent shows. First, TusVideo14 shares a very trippy, artistic video of DtB performing Part-Time Lover from 9/4/10 at the Rhytmn and Roots Festival in Ninigret Park, Charlestown, RI. Also, baer 157 has posted a slew of excellent, high-quality videos from the band's 9/8/10 show at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, OH. including Way Back When, Mystic Water, No Place Like the Right Time, Need You More and More, and Positive Friction. Thanks to both videographers, and thanks to the band for their very generous taping policies. (posted 9/12/10)

New Photos: 8/29/10 Patchogue, NY

In late August, the worlds of Donna the Buffalo and the Grateful Dead again crossed paths, though unlike Tara Nevin's mini-tour as a member of former Dead drummer Billy Kreutzmann's band BK3 in 2009, this recent event did not feature members of both bands performing together. On Sunday, 8/29/10, DtB opened for the Rhythm Devils, a band consisting of Kreutzmann, fellow Dead percussionist Mickey Hart, Tim Bluhm (guitar, vocals), Davy Knowles (guitar, vocals), Sikiru Adepoju (talking drum), and Andy Hess (bass). First-time DonnaFans.com contributor Jill Wylie Wenger came out for this special show, and generously shares with us 12 photos of DtB playing on 8/29/10 at Blue Point Brewing Co. in Patchogue, NY. Well-received by the Deadheads in attendance, DtB's set included performances of Conscious Evolution, Part-Time Lover, Locket & Key, Family Picture, Me & Depression, No Place Like The Right Time, and The Funky Side. Rumors of DtB guitarist dancing backstage to the Rhythm Devils' set are entirely true, though you won't find those photos here. Thanks, Jill! (posted 9/4/10)
