Photos And Video From GrassRoots Fest

Coverage of this year's GrassRoots Festival, which took place in Trumansburg, NY 7/19/12 to 7/22/12, comes to us from several longtime DonnaFans.com contributors. First, Gene Martin provides us with this video of Aidan O'Brien just tearing it up while he sits in with Donna the Buffalo for a version of Another World on Sunday, 7/22/12. Aidan played Jeb's Strat and Jeb played his Kent. This was part of DtB's end-of-festival all-star Sunday night set, which this year clocked in at approximately 6 hours. In addition to this, Aidan also won this year's GrassRoots Guitar Contest. This wasn't Aidan's first time joining DtB onstage; check out this, and this. Next, in addition to capturing audio of many of this year's GrassRoots performers, Gary "Mad Taper" Pudvan had camera in hand throughout the fest, and shares his images with us at http://madtaperpix.shutterfly.com/pictures/193. Finally, Tom Clausen has made it a habit to take in as much of each year's GrassRoots Fest as humanly possible, and this year he shares hundreds of his pictures with us in albums grouped by day: Thur. 7/19/12, Fri. 7/20/12, Sat. 7/21/12, and Sun. 7/22/12. Several sets by DtB and other artists were webcast live throughout the weekend. Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to share the festivities with fans who couldn't be there in person. New Photos: 7/14/12 Black Mountain, NC

Less than a week before their venerable GrassRoots Festival in Trumansburg, NY, Donna the Buffalo headed down to North Carolina to perform at Carnavalito, a friendly little fest hosted by their friends, Toubab Krewe. John Yust was in attendance and kindly shares with us 9 photos of DtB playing on 7/14/12 in Black Mountain, NC, including a shot of Toubab Krewe's Justin Perkins sitting in on scrub. DtB did a late-afternoon set that featured a surprising Tonight, Tomorrow and Yesterday opener, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Cornbread, a long, jammy Voice in My Head, Hot Tamale Baby, and more. DonnaFans.com contributor Terry Killebrew also was at this show, and captured a near-perfect soundboard recording, which you can download from the Live Music Archive at http://archive.org/details/donna2012-07-14.aud. Thanks, guys! (posted 7/24/12)
