Two Great Videos From MagFest

Mark "DaBabe" Roth has done it again! This dedicated fan and videographer was at MagnoliaFest at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL and has posted two fantastic videos of Donna the Buffalo on his YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/user/dababe44. The first is of the band performing The Beauty Within on the Meadow Stage on Saturday, 10/22/11; it's available at http://youtu.be/6zl_EqygZXQ. The second video is a 12-minute masterpiece of Jeb and Tara doing Mystic Water as a duet on the Main Stage to close out the fest on Sunday, 10/23/11; you can see it at http://youtu.be/PAiOOHHvaoQ. Thanks so much, Mark! I hope to post more coverage from this fest soon. (posted 10/29/11)

First Photos From Fall Shakori!

Donna the Buffalo loves the Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival so much that they play it twice each year—once in the Spring and once in the Fall. This year's Fall rendition was a spectacular affair, featuring not just multiple sets of DtB at their finest, but also many performances by the greatest bands the mainstream press has barely heard of, several of whom sat in with our favorite band. DonnaFans contributor John Yust kindly provides us with 12 photos of DtB playing 10/6/11 - 10/9/11 in Silk Hope, NC. John documented in pixels the band's festival-opening set on Thursday, which included Each and Every Direction, Rockin' in the Weary Land, and Current Theme into Hot Tamale Baby (the latter two with Nery Aravelo on percussion); the Saturday night gig; and the all-star jam to end the fest on Sunday, which featured guest appearances from Bela Fleck, The Duhks. Driftwood, Greg Humphries, and several others. John Bischman has uploaded his recordings of the Thurs. and Sat. sets to the Live Music Archive; you can download them from www.archive.org/details/DonnatheBuffalo. Thanks, guys! (posted 10/24/11)

Just Added: Photos From 9/30/11 Atlanta, GA

Donna the Buffalo wrapped up a very busy September with their third visit of the month to the Southeast. Long-time DonnaFans.com contributor John Yust turned out, and generously shares with us 10 fantastic photos of DtB playing at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA on 9/30/11. The band's performance on this night included many gems, such as an early-set Me & Depression, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Why You Wanna Leave Me Baby, Revelation Two-Step, The Ones You Love, Positive Friction, Funky Side, and No Place Like The Right Time, all capped off with a sublime rendition of Let Love Move Me. Fortunately, thanks to capnhook, you can download an extra-crisp recording of this show from the Live Music Archive at www.archive.org/details/DonnaTheBuffalo

New Photos: Jeb And Tara, 7/16/11 Masontown, WV

Back in July, a few days before the start of this year's Trumansburg GrassRoots Festival, Donna the Buffalo made an appearance at the All Good Music Festival in West Virginia. While there, DtB's Jeb Puryear and Tara Nevins performed a mini set as a duet. DonnaFans.com contributor Jim Kirk was on hand, and kindly shares with us 4 photos of Jeb and Tara playing on 7/16/11 in Masontown, WV. As part of this appearance, Jeb and Tara participated in an interview with Tri State Indie, during which they spoke about the band's approach to setlists, the Herd, Herd Charity, and the official word on origin of the name "Donna the Buffalo." You can check out this video at http://youtu.be/9hyZ7GiNkUY. Thanks for the photos, Jim! (posted 10/4/11)
